Scene change: The Atlanta Lyric Theatre’s new venue

In 2007, the Atlanta Lyric Theatre left its Georgia Tech home for Marietta’s Strand Theatre, and so the Cobb Social Center. In the latest move, the Lyric has purchased Theatre around the Square’s black-box performance space inside a onetime alley. The venue enables for cabaret-style performances musical theater experiments along with a space for that Junior Lyric, its educational arm. The organization can now “fully realize our mission-mixing quality performances and academic outreach,” states managing artistic director Brandt Blocker.

Meanwhile an ambitious thirty-fifth months are going ahead, showcasing the Lyric’s dancing prowess in productions like Chicago.
